What weโre reading andย eatingย this week:
Do not forget to turn your Easter ham leftovers into pea soup.ย (For other ideas, check out pages 11-13, How to Celebrate Everything.)
Speaking of celebrating everything: Abby got her braces off yesterday and this is what Andy brought home for her to mark the occasion.
This is such a good idea: prep a few fresh sauces and dressings on the weekend and you can elevate any meal all week long.

Iโm really into this cold-brew contraption right nowโฆand itโs not even cold-brew season yet.
Vacation reading: American Marriage and Pachinkoย (Am I the last one on Earth to read this?)

I think of these animal videos as my oxygen masks when I start hyperventilating over the headlines: Chimps, Dogs,ย Baby Monkeyย and my favorite, the Horror Movie Watching Cat.
Dear Therapist: My son has an impractical, ridiculous careerโฆ
Is this Hawaiian Island beach house too much to ask for in life? (The kitchen, holy moly.)

Thanks for the update. Got a little teary eyed the other day when you wrote that Phoebe is now 16. How does that happen?
Great round up, as always!
Love the pea soup! Iโve made it both with and without the ham bone and prefer it with โ not so much because of the added flavor, but because I prefer the ham picked off the bone rather than chopped and browned in butter.
The โDear Therapistโ article is so true. And it also works in reverse. A couple of years ago I made a decision for my life that one of my kids (the one who would most be affected by it) didnโt like. While I understood her point of view, her rationale didnโt fit my reality.
What a treat to find that you have a Friday roundup post! Thank you! That beach house is something out of dreams. What a great place for a girls week!
I am reading American Marriage on my spring break! Love anything by David Sedaris. Great idea on the Passover pie!
Youโre not the last one on earth to read Pachinkoโthatโs me. But you might be in second place. I donโt know why but every time I reach for it I think, โHmmmm not today.โ
RE: Cold Brew
I make 1.5 gallons at at time using a Rubbermaid cereal storage container. I get 5 liters for about $0.76 PER LITER!
No device I have seen can compare.
